Who are the homeless?
A large part of people are homeless in American society now. Parts of these people were “sent out from the hospitals” (Kozol, 1989, p. 450) because of society’s wrong decision. Older men and women, small children and unmarried mothers with children are as a large part of homeless people, especially in the urban areas. “It seems as though homelessness is almost identical to spouselessness” (Bidinotto, 1990, p.47); that makes their lives very difficult, such as the articles said ; “given that a working single mother must pay for day care and often finds it difficult to both hold down a good job and single-handedly take care of the children” (Bidinotto, 1990, p. 47).
What causes homelessness?
The group of homeless people are not a whole group, but can be divided into three groups. Many factors affect the group of homeless people, such as “economic recession, unemployment, inflation, decreasing availability of low-rent housing, and a low level of job skills” (Torrey, 1991, p.47); they do not have enough abilities to have a good life. These people usually can get the public’s sympathy to help them get out from being “down-on-my-luck” (Torrey, 1991, p. 35). In addition, many people abuse alcoholics and drugs, which makes them become homeless, and also lose the sympathy from public. But, society has to provide part of this kind of people help, in order to help them save money to quit drinking or smoking.

So, most of these people do not have enough abilities and skills to work for enough money, and also have many pressures from society, that cause them become homeless.
What causes homelessness?
The group of homeless people are not a whole group, but can be divided into three groups. Many factors affect the group of homeless people, such as “economic recession, unemployment, inflation, decreasing availability of low-rent housing, and a low level of job skills” (Torrey, 1991, p.47); because of these reasons, that measns they do not have enough abilities to earn much money and can not to afford everything, so they do not have a good life. These people usually can get the public’s sympathy to help them get out from being “down-on-my-luck” (Torrey, 1991, p. 35). In addition, many people abuse alcoholics and drugs, they waste too much money on that instead of normal lives. They \become homeless, and also lose the sympathy from public. But, society has to provide part of this kind of people help, in order to help them save money to quit drinking or smoking, and then have normal lives.
